Weekly updates Friday 30th January 2026

2nd Feb 2026
Another week and another month comes to an end!

We’ve had another busy but fun-filled week at school!

We started off on Monday with a very exciting visit from Jude, who proudly brought in his Elite Ireland Champion trophy to show everyone. We were delighted to welcome him back to our after-schools club this week too!

On Tuesday, the unexpected power cut caused quite a disruption. Thank you all sincerely for collecting the children so quickly—it really showed us how much we rely on electricity for our daily routines!

P7 had great fun with the music teacher from Holy Cross college playing ukuleles!

On Thursday, we celebrated a beautiful assembly dedicated to St Brigid. We reflected on her kindness and care for others, which linked perfectly into our awards presentations.

Mrs Falls and Mrs Daly were presented with their Reading Partner certificates, having successfully completed their training in Term 1. A big well done also to Heidi, Meghan, Bradley and Shea, who thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the programme.

We also presented our December awards for drama and stage presence, and our January awards for showing resilience.

Our annual handwriting competition proved very difficult to judge this year—so many children produced outstanding work! Well done to all the winners.

Many classes enjoyed lots of art activities throughout the week, including creating St Brigid’s crosses. We will miss Miss McColgan, our P4/5 student teacher, who finishes her placement on Monday. The children had a fantastic time with her making junk art creations this week - we even had rocket launchers! Mr Torney popped in to say hello and was very impressed with their designs and creations!

Congratulations to Nevaeh and Enda, who proudly shared their trophies for dancing and greyhound racing this week.

It has been another wonderful week at St Patrick’s, and we are all ready for a well-deserved rest. We look forward to returning on Monday, with St Brigid bringing the first signs of spring on Sunday!

Happy weekend 🤩
