Weekly update 🤩
Primary 6 and Primary 7 had a fantastic start to the week with a historical tour of Newtownstewart. The children thoroughly enjoyed hearing the stories behind many of the local landmarks and places of interest. A special thank you to Alastair for sharing his knowledge and bringing local history to life for everyone.
Go raibh maith agat to Michelle from MF Learning for teaching Irish this year. Her final session took place on Monday, and the children from P3–P7 have learned so much. We are very grateful for all her hard work and enthusiasm throughout the year. We look forward to having Michelle back next year with the whole school! ☘️
On Tuesday evening, we were delighted to welcome Gareth as he presented us with our Green Eco Flag. This is a tremendous achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Mrs Daly and the Eco Council for their dedication and hard work in helping our school achieve this prestigious award. Well done to everyone involved! 💚
With just one after-school session remaining next week, the children continue to make great use of and enjoy our games room. We are fortunate to have such fantastic facilities, including pool tables and a range of exciting games for the children to enjoy.
P3 and P4 showed great creativity this week as they used LEGO to support their World Cup topic. There were some wonderful creations and impressive work on display. Well done to Lochlann, Ardan and Alfie winning Kahoot in their class!
Primary 1 and Primary 2 had an amazing trip to Pomeroy Forest Park. Despite the rain, the children enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the beautiful surroundings, playing in the park, and having a picnic together. It was a memorable day for all.
Amy from Walk, Wheel, Cycle worked with P6 and P7 this week, exploring the importance of keeping our air clean. The children learned some valuable tips and thoroughly enjoyed this interesting and informative workshop.
Our Primary 7 trip to Jungle NI was another highlight of the week. A huge thank you to the Parent Support Group for organising the trip, and to Karen, Michelle, Amy and Carol-Ann for accompanying Mrs Neill, Miss McCauley and the P7 children. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter and great memories…and lots of mud! 😊
Finally, a reminder that the school is closed tomorrow for a Staff Development Day. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! Let’s pray the sun appears for our Sports Day to go ahead on Wednesday 17th ☀️
