Weekly Updates 20th February
Happy Friday 🤩
After a lovely mid-term break, everyone returned refreshed and ready to get back into working mode this week.
Tuesday was a particularly busy and exciting day. Our P7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Pop Art session with Holy Cross College in Strabane. Mr McGlone, along with our wonderful assistants, took the lead in making pancakes, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all! We also welcomed Gareth Lammock, who delivered an engaging workshop on waste management and what happens to our rubbish. The children found this very interesting and it links perfectly with our ongoing work towards achieving our Eco Green Flag.
On Ash Wednesday, Father Colhoun visited the school to help us begin our Lenten journey. He spoke to the children about the meaning of Lent and distributed ashes, making it a very reflective and meaningful occasion.
On Thursday, REIM delivered very informative internet safety workshops to all classes. The children learned a great deal and gained a better understanding of how important online safety is in today’s world.
Alongside all of this, pupils continued to enjoy lots of practical learning in maths, art and music. Our daily TESCO Healthy Breaks continue to be a success, and this week Cobhlaith and Cathal kindly shared their delicious and healthy snacks 😋.
Well done to Caidan, Alleeah-Jai, Laylah, Enda, Garbhan and Patrick, who received green cards, and thank you to Ryan for presenting lots of certificates also! There is certainly plenty of talent in St Patrick’s!
We were also delighted to welcome Mrs Duffy to the secretary role this week. She is already settling in very well and becoming a valued member of our school family.
P3, P4 and P5 are very much looking forward to their Shared Education trip to the Foyle Arena in Derry on Monday.
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend. See you all on Monday 🤩https://www.facebook.com/share/1HXJX7KzWr/?mibextid=wwXIfr
