Weekly Update 27th March
What a great week we’ve had!
It started off with the County Board blitz organised by Fiachra McNulty, and we were very lucky that it was hosted at Naomh Eoghain. It was a lovely wee treat for our Primary 7 pupils following their Confirmation on Saturday.
Primary 7 were delighted when Mrs Devine came back to say hello and congratulate them on making their Confirmation! They sang Happy birthday to her too π
We then enjoyed Week 3 of Shared Education, with all groups having great fun as they changed location this week.
Well done to Ella, Éireann, Corbyn and Angel-Rose, who proudly shared their awards with us this week. Good luck to Eireann this weekend in Killarney for the Irish Dancing World Championships!
Primary 1 and 2 have enjoyed 8 weeks of having Miss McConomy-Boyle in with them. Thanks for all your help! We really enjoyed having you!
Today we held our Annual Feis, and I am so proud of the amazing talent on show from Primary 1 right through to Primary 7. As I said today, while it is lovely to win, once a child steps onto the stage and performs, they are already a winner. We had a large number of children who took part in all events, which was a massive achievement in itself.
A huge thank you to Conor and Michelle who came along to adjudicate. It is a very difficult job, but they did it extremely well and were very impressed with the children of St Patrick’s.
A massive thank you also to our parents for all the preparation in advance, to everyone who came along today, and to our wonderful staff who worked together so that everything ran so smoothly: our teachers, especially Mrs Caterson for her attention to detail in the lead-up to today; Mrs Sheridan for accompanying every child who sang; our classroom assistants for getting the school ready, organising teas and the cake sale; Ray for setting everything up; and Mrs Duffy for all her organising. We really are a super team, and I am very grateful for everyone’s efforts.
Last but not least, thank you to our amazing children. They got up and did an outstanding job. I was bursting with pride watching how confident and clear they all were. Once all the photos are gathered, we will share them on the website.
We are delighted to have raised money for Carolanne’s fundraising abseil in support of her niece and past pupil, Aoife. We continue to keep Aoife in our prayers π
On Monday, we look forward to welcoming the Mayor of Derry and Strabane to the school to showcase our talents.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
