Easter Week 🐣
Easter Week
We all enjoyed a lovely few days in the lead-up to Easter 🐣.
Monday was a fantastic day as we celebrated our Feis winners and were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Derry and Strabane to our school.
On Tuesday, 28 children from P4–P7 took part in the St Mary’s Strabane Cross Country. The children ran a very challenging route and all performed exceptionally well. We were thrilled to come home with seven medals, with Ava (P7) achieving an excellent 3rd place finish. Super running everyone!
Also on Tuesday, we held our Pupil of the Month awards. This month’s theme was bravery and courage—such important qualities to have in life. Well done to all our deserving recipients.
We were delighted to present Carolanne McBrearty with a cheque for £700, raised through the generous support of our school community. This will go towards her fundraising efforts for cancer patients. We continue to keep her niece and past pupil, Aoife McNamee, in our prayers as she shows such bravery and courage. God bless Aoife 🙏.
Well done to Ava P6 who won the jelly beans and to Brodie P7 who won the ‘Guess the Teddy bear’s name!’
The children enjoyed a well‑deserved Easter party on Tuesday afternoon as a reward for all their hard work over the past few weeks. They enjoyed doing Easter trails and artwork!
Today, Primary 7 took part in the Love for Life talk, approved by the Catholic Bishops for primary schools and covering the RSE curriculum requirements. The children really enjoyed the session and said they received great advice and tips as they prepare for the move to post‑primary school in September.
Well done to Eireann Maguire as she was in Killarney at her first Irish Dancing World Championships!
Good luck to Elijah and Ailbe McCrory as they head off to Italy and Barcelona representing their club over the break!
We wish everyone a very happy Easter break, and we hope the Easter Bunny brings plenty of treats for our wonderful pupils 🐣.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 14th April.
Enjoy the break everyone! 🤩
